Professional life is underpinned by digital literacies and as professionals we need to look at digital literacies holistically; that is, as a mindset and a rich set of behaviours and not simply as a set of technical skills. This was the starting point for Jane Cowell’s thought provoking ANZDL webinar presentation. Keeping up with digital trends, and learning and doing new digital things every day are all essential to help librarians rethink services and keep libraries relevant to their communities. As a follow-up to the webinar discussion Fiona Macdonald has shared how the University of Wollongong library supports staff to find professional development time to build digital literacies.
